Euclid's RPN Frequently Asked Questions

Whats' new in version 5 RPN now includes..
  • A Financial Calculator for loans, leases & annuities
  • Amortization Schedules for each of the above
  • A convient perpetuial Monthly Calendar Display
  • "Money Mode" (automatic decimal point insertion)
Euclid no longer messes with the windows registry. Also lots of behind the scenes changes and adjustments mainly to accommodate the new financial calculator displays.

Why Register? It's hard to explain with out showing some one how simple, natural and easy it is to use an RPN calculator. I'm doing what I can to get it out there. I need an army of advocates who already know and can show others that RPN makes even a powerful calculator easy to use, fun, and productive. Registration gives me the means to maintain LivingSoftware programs and gives volenteers some motivation* to do the handholding newcomers may require.

How can I give a registered copy to someone else When you enter registration information, change the tax rate or modes Euclid creates an ini file and stores that information in the file. An ini file is a text file "Euclid.ini" with a particular format which Euclid can read. Euclid uses the ini file to remember the user configuration setting changes.

If the ini file exists in the directory (folder) with the application Euclid will use the it to configure the calculator when it starts.

When you distribute your registered copy be sure the ini file with at least your registration information is included or enter the registration information manually in the new user's copy. The registration has no effect on the operating characteristics of the program. It's just a convenant place to keep the registration information available for new users who might want to register themselves.
